Sport Law

Sports is now a global industry where integrated consultancy, familiar with all the rules, is essential to “play” well

The sports industry is a testing ground for legal and tax advice due to its multiple touchpoints with areas such as contracting, labor law, taxation, international law, disciplinary matters and influencing, up to litigation. We are the chosen consultants of athletes, sports clubs, sports federations, private and institutional event organizers, sponsors, broadcasters and investors.

  • We assist sports clubs and federations with all statutory, contractual, disciplinary, tax, insurance and labor law issues, as well as corporate governance, legal aspects of Financial Fair Play and any potential corporate crisis, paying attention to the consequences in the sports disciplinary field. We collaborate on planning, organizing and managing sports events and in cases of reopening to the public. We assist and represent clubs in any potential litigation before ordinary and administrative judicial authorities and sports justice bodies of all levels.
  • We handle all contractual matters for athletes – from stipulation to termination of sports performance agreements – covering all labor law and taxation aspects, managing image rights with afiliated clubs and federations, as well as literary, television or film transpositions of athletes’ sports stories. We assist and represent the athlete in any litigation.
  • We address the legal aspects of E-sports, competitive video games at an organized and professional level. Our international network allows us to assist Italian athletes and companies in their interests abroad.
  • We support sports agents in managing representation, consulting and mediation relationships for athletes and sports companies, at all stages: preparing sports mandate contracts, negotiating the conclusion, termination or renewal of sports employment contracts, transfers and the related assignment of the athlete’s contract.
  • We define the legal aspects in brand development in retail, co-branding and various licensing declinations. We devote ourselves to trademarks and IP portfolio protection and brand protection through customs protection and anti-counterfeiting, in civil and criminal cases. We take care of the legal aspects of sports marketing, negotiating endorsement agreements with testimonials and athletes, sponsorship with sports clubs and event organizers, developing and contracting merchandising and affiliation projects.
  • We provide consultancy to real estate operators and sports clubs for the acquisition and management of sports facilities and support them in the management of all contractual or concessionary relationships, including those with municipalities and public administrations.
