The pursuit of sustainable development objectives and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) issues represent a relevant topic for companies, in relation to the needs of the market – stakeholders, employees and consumers – and the increasingly complex and articulated regulatory framework – both European and international.

Consistent with our values, we have been among the first Italian law firms to provide advice in this field, both concerning ESG factors and social entrepreneurship and impact investing, as well as equipping ourselves internally with a Sustainability Model that sets out inspirational values and principles and includes impact measurement methods.

From this perspective, we have created a specific integrated team with which we assist companies, financial operators, and nonprofit entities in the transition to a sustainabile business model and the integration of ESG issues into their business strategy. The team’s professionals are included in international networks operating in the ESG and Impact sphere. Moreover, we have contributed to the founding of GAIL (The Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers), of which we chair the European Regional Board, as well as being part of the Business Human Rights Committee of the International Bar Association.

• We work on the creation and implementation of sustainability models, drafting corporate policies, codes of ethics and contracts that pursue sustainable goals. We perform due diligence aimed at developing sustainable value chains and acquiring Benefit Corporation status, as well as for governance interventions.
• We assist our clients on the regulatory and normative aspects of sustainable finance (SFDR and Taxonomy) and collaborate with consulting firms and the academic world to assist companies with B Corp certification processes, and in reporting and measuring ESG impacts.

For more than a decade we have been working alongside the Third Sector through assistance to social enterprises, cooperatives and nonprofit entities at all stages of their life and development, particularly in adopting the adjustments required by the Code of the Third Sector, managing relations with the Public Administration and carrying out reorganization and transformation operations, mergers and spin-off. Within this complex ecosystem, we also support the development of projects for the reception, job placement and entrepreneurship of migrants and refugees.
