Elena Bozza is a specialist in customs matters. Her deep-rooted experience in the sector enables her to offer highly specific support to companies involved in international markets.
She offers assistance and consultancy with customs compliance activities through targeted interventions and customs planning & engineering tailored to business needs. The activities are aimed at optimising customs burdens, maintaining company compliance as well as achieving the competitive advantages, in terms of economic and bureaucratic savings and speed of import/export procedures, that a correct customs strategy, in compliance with EU and national regulations, allows.
In particular, it deals with the topics of preferential and non-preferential origin, hence ‘Made in’, customs classification of goods and customs value, acquisition of authorisations, customs approach to international goods traffic, BTI and IVO decisions, analysis and 231 model with reference to customs offences, special tariff regimes, AEO authorisation, customs check-ups, in-house customs for the company, analysis of extra-tax requirements in import and export.
She performs administrative and judicial defence of the company in customs litigation for investigations by the national customs authority and OLAF in tax courts and defence in criminal cases for customs offences prosecuted by EPPO (European Public Prosecutor’s Office) and national prosecutors’ offices.
Adjunct professor for the teaching of European Union Law at the University of Camerino and La Sapienza Roma, she lectures on customs matters addressed to companies and in courses of ‘Head of Customs Affairs’ for the professional qualification for the acquisition of AEO authorisation approved by the Customs and Monopolies Agency.
After graduating with honours, she obtained a Master’s degree in European Union Law and a PhD in European Union and Comparative Private Law.
She is a customs broker registered in the Professional Register of Customs Brokers and a lawyer member of the Rome Bar and established in France as member of the Paris Bar.
