News | Elena Corcione joins RPLT’s ESG & Legal Impact team as Of Counsel

RPLT announces that, starting from July 2024, attorney Elena Corcione will join RPLT as Of Counsel, primarily for the ESG & Legal Impact practice.

Attorney Corcione holds a PhD and is currently a research fellow at the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, with experience collaborating with other law firms.

She specializes in business and human rights and, in recent years, has developed a focus on the implications of these issues in the food and food production sectors. This has led to the creation of a synergy with RPLT’s ESG & Legal Impact practice, which is also active in the business and human rights field.

The evolving regulatory and market context at the European and international levels is placing the issue of human rights compliance at the center of corporate strategies, with particular attention to managing increasingly global and fragmented supply chains. In particular, in the food and fashion supply chains, this is a highly relevant issue, as demonstrated by some recent and widely publicized events that have occurred in Italy. With attorney Corcione’s entry, RPLT will further strengthen its presence in this field within the main business sectors in which it operates.

“Certified B Corporation” is a trademark licensed by B Lab, a private non-profit organization, to companies like ours that have successfully completed the B Impact Assessment (“BIA”) and therefore meet the requirements set by B Lab for social and environmental performance,accountability, and transparency.

It is specified that B Lab is not a conformity assessment body as defined by Regulation (EU) no. 765/2008, nor is it a national, European, or international standardization body as per Regulation (UE) no. 1025/2012.

The criteria of the BIA are distinct and independent from the harmonized standards resulting from ISO norms or other standardization bodies, and they are not ratified by national or European public institutions.
